Dr AL-Tamimi graduated from the College of Medicine, University of Baghdad and completed his postgraduate training in Baghdad and United Kingdom. He worked as an assistant professor in Rheumatology, College of Medicine- AL-Nahrain University-Baghdad, Iraq till 1998, then as an associate professor in Medicine and Rheumatology in the University of Sanaa, Kuwait teaching hospital till May 1999. Since May 1999 he settled in Oman, as a Sr. Consultant Physician and Rheumatologist and the head of Dept of Medicine, Nizwa Hospital, looking after medical patients with various medical and rheumatological problems. He has published several papers, of them is the spectrum of rheumatoid arthritis in patients attending Rheumatology clinic in Nizwa Hospital, Oman Medical Journal July 2010, Adult Onset Still's Disease, Journal for Scientific Research Medical Sciences, June 2006, Osteomyelitis of the thoracic cage in patients with sickle cell disorder.
